Ellie Frost on 'Social Enterprise ... People Conscious, Planet Conscious and Socially Conscious Business'
Ellie Frost is the founder of Hatch, an innovation and development company set up in response to the increasing importance of innovation and creative thinking within business and the need for business to build these skills from within. Ellie originally trained in law and worked in a management consultancy before joining the Jamie Oilver organisation in 2002 where she became a Director of 5 companies and was responsible for the creation and implementation of several brands and businesses across retail, restaurant and other product and service sectors. Ellie is passionate about business innovation and evolution and believes that there are powerful, integrated new ways for businesses to work that serve themselves, the planet, each individual and the community. Ellie says: "The key to creating an innovative culture is a fluid culture, because creativity needs fluidity. ... Being pressured to come up with new ideas just kills the innovative spirit. ... Most of the innovative secrets and magic of a company will come from inside the company. It needs a fluid interaction within the organisation to ensure creative fluidity. ... It needs to feel like a free space and doesn't necessarily need to have an agenda . ... Everybody wants to be part of and aligned with the purpose behind the company." |
